Our Origin Story
Queer Poetry Club was founded in February, 2025, by queer Epekwitk-based poets Julie Bull (they/them) and Elena Deagle (she/her). On January 19, 2025, Elena attended one of Julie’s poetry workshops and she proceeded to ask Julie if they’d be interested in forming a queer poetry club. It was an immediate “YES!” When you put two Aries poetry-enthusiasts together, action happens! We held our first session two weeks later on February 1, 2025, and we have been meeting once a month since then. We are excited to g(r)o(w) into the future.
